Driving through the city of New Orleans

My elder daughter, K, is driving across the country, back from Los Angeles to Connecticut.  She just called me and said they had a fun night on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans.  They managed to find excellent Cajun crab cakes, hamburgers grilled under Chevrolet hubcaps (keeps the juices in!) and ambrosial bread pudding.  Plus an absinthe daiquiri and a couple of strawberry margaritas.  Oh, to be young!

Sitting next to her at a bar was another young woman who turned out to be from West Hartford, and had worked at the same summer camp that K and L went to for many years.

K has a new idea for an MTV show — Christmas Break in Nawlins — Road Trip version.

I think it could be good!
