Babes in Blogland

So, here are the searches that show up on my dashboard as being the ones that lead readers to this blog:

letters from lordship,  gig economy,  is the lordship section of stratford ct a good place to live?,  lettersfromlordship,  sexy e mail letters

Sexy e mail letters?  How did that get them here?  (I could have said get “him” here, because I suspect it would be a guy who would do that search — but hey, who doesn’t love sexy e mail letters?)

I’ve been blogging since the first day of December, and it is fun — it gives me a chance to put my thoughts out there, and gets the writing wheels well-greased.  I’ve gotten a lot of material that I will turn into the next planned book about my new marriage. And I am further inspired to write a short, heartfelt book about the joys of aging.  Here is a list of brainstormed titles, sailing forth without reserve from my brain to this screen — they ain’t all brilliant:

THE JOY OF AGING

OLDER, BETTER, SMARTER

FINER EVERY YEAR

50-WONDERFUL

50-DELICIOUS

WHAT WE KNOW NOW

FOOLISH YOUTH

THE ADOLESCENCE OF AGE

IT’S REALLY BETTER

LIKE FINE WINE

PINCH ME, I’M FIFTY

50-FINE

That’s the good part about blogging.  Getting the flow of ideas going.  (A downside to both these planned books is that my current book (see above) is funny — an important aspect.  But these next ones will be serious.  Or mostly serious.  Though, even when I start serious, I tend to get funny.  I’ve been writing funny (perhaps lame funny would be more accurate) since writing for the high school newspaper, a.k.a. Thomas S. Wootton High School’s Common Sense.  I am sure I wrote for the first issue, since we invented everything about that school.

The challenge of blogging is that it takes time.  Not that I don’t waste a lot of that anyway!

I’m content to blog away for a few months here, waiting to have a body of work, and discovering my bloggy voice.  That way, when people come (and they do come – my counter number is growing), I will have something to show them.  A good rule for blogging, from The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging:

Perfect is the enemy of done.

As a perfectionist from way back, I’m challenged by that.  But see here!  I’ve produced a short, rambling, multi-subject, imperfect entry for today, and I’m very happy about that.

Onward and upward!
